S.No. 9th March, 1891) that the Government did not intend to appoint another. chaplain and that the endowment of the Cathedral staff by the Govern ment would cease, that of the Colonial Chaplain on the 21st June following.

left to the trustees to make such arrangements as they could for the continuance of the Cathedral. services, but the Government furnished. the trustees with certain information as to the support the Church Booly might expect to receive from the Colonial,

Acting Governor in 1891 granted a sum of $200 a month until the end of the year,
thus
enabling
the trustees to keep the church open by temporary arrangements while communi-. cuting with the seatholders as to the future arrangements to be made.
